Default Adjusting the ISO on canon xl1

I am wondering how I can change the ISO on the canon xl1,I know about f stops and shutter speeds but can't find any way to change the ISO,there is an AE shift which can't be used in manual mode,is this the same as ISO?.First post cheers.

You'll be looking for gain control rather than ISO (according to the internet, you can adjust this on the xl1 using a knob on the lower left side of the body).

Thanks Marc I thought it must be the gain, this is also the AE shift I mentioned which can be used in TV OR AV mode but I have no reading when I adjust it so it's a bit of guesswork it would seem.
