    Default horror effects ???

    i'm just wondering how in horror films they do that freaky violent shaking effect thats really fast, im not very good at explaining things and i cant think of a film to use as an example but if anybody can make any sense of my question please reply soon

    do you mean like the effects in house on haunted hill, because for that you'd probably need to film the subject that needs speeding up seperatly, get them to do a crazy movement then just speed up the video, i've done this before and it seemed to work a treat.

    i think he means like a delay type thing.
    EX: (i'll try the best i can)
    imagine a guys running down a hall
    effects: almost as if he's drunk with a visual delay
    or
    almost as if there are layers of the film on top of each other but off by a few mm's or so.

    Effects>Blur and sharpen>Ghoasting.....is that ok?

    i actually have premiere 6 so how would i do it in that?

    The initial description of the effect sounds like that done in Jacob's Ladder with Tim Robbins.

    I fondly refer to this unsettling effect as "The paint-shaker".
    If you ever seen them mix a 1 gallon bucket of paint in a hardware store, you'll see why the name suits the effect. It's one of my favorite horror effects.

    Skratakh's description of the technique sounds like the logical way to do it.

    If only I could figure out how to get my captured clips to allow transparency and filters, I could do these effects too.
