Thread: Cropping a video and placing in position overlaying another video track?

Default Cropping a video and placing in position overlaying another video track?

Ok Simply put, I have 2 clips, I want to overlay video 1 onto video 2, however, I want to also crop the viewing box of video one so that it does not show the entire scene, and move that cropped box into a specific position in video 2. I have added screen shots to show you what I mean. Thank you.

    Video 1 on Track 1
    Video 2 on Track 2

Video 1: Open the "Pan and Crop" window.
Turn OFF "Stretch to fill frame" under "Source". If you want the aspect ratio to be different (eg you want to cut out a square rather than a rectangle) also turn OFF "Maintain Aspect Ratio" and deselect "Lock Aspect Ratio" (one of the icons on the far left)
Now use Track Motion on track 1 to resize (if necessary) and position. (Track motion is accessed via one of the little icons on the track header)

Thanks for getting back. Glad it worked.

Did you check out Z Cheema's tutorial, too?

I did, nicely done tutorial but the missing key I needed was putting the cropped video under a parent track then adding the track motion to put it where I wanted as you suggested, thanks again.
