    Default Best format for youtube for speed and quality?

    At the moment I am uploading my vids to youtube at mpeg2 but it took 6 hours yesturday for a 30minute video.

    What do you guyd think is the best format for speed and quality?

    12x sounds about right for a multi tracked and effected movie - depends how much of that you did.

    Filesize is probably the only real indicator for upload to youtube, I end up about 200mb, and 12x is normal.

    6 hours to upload a 30 minute film means it's taking 12 times the video length to upload.

    It can easily take an hour to upload a 5 minute clip - therefore that's still 12 times, meaning you may simply be thinking that 6 hours is a long time, when actually it's normal.

    It's also irrelevant, it depends on the filesize of the movie, your internet upload speed etc etc

    What is the file size of your movie?

    wmv or mp4......late at night.....use the YT upload not software on your PC...........don't upload anything longer that 8 minutes cos no one on YT will bother watching it!

    I believe the main question is your internet uploading speed..... Run a speed test at speedtest.net and check your results.
