Thread: Limiting numbers for audio react/expressions

  1. Default Limiting numbers for audio react/expressions

    Hello there..
I want to make brightness to react to audio. I used expressions and 'Expression pick whip (whip icon), it worked. But the problem is - keyframes starts from 0 and ends at ***, how can I limit them and decrease sensivity? For ex., when music is loud, brightness should be 120, bet when silent - 80.
    Thanks.

If I understand the question correctly; then:
If the data (v) is in the range 0 to 127,
And, if the required (r) range is -80 to 120,
    Then r=((v/127)*200)-80

Im not sure about that.. The thing is - it's a small script in AE using keyframes

    thisComp.layer("Audio Amplitude").effect("Both Channels")("Slider")
where Audo Amplitude is layer and 'Both Channels, Slider' is keyframes (Generated using 'Convert audio to keyframes'). I need to change the keyframe converting so it generated them between 80 and 120, not 0 and 100.

Maybe try replacing your current Expression with this:

    ((thisComp.layer("Audio Amplitude").effect("Both Channels")("Slider")/127)*40)+80

  5. Default

    Thank you, it's working!
