    Default ios vs vista

An elderly chap at my video club has just taken delivery of an ipad mini.

Neither His laptop or desktop computers (vista) will identify the ipad as an external hard drive to enable him to cut and paste the movie files from it.

Last night I connected his ipad to a laptop with windows 7 installed and immediately the iPad was acknowledged as an external hard drive.

Any ios users know what the problem might be ?

I know you can do this fine with Win7 and Win XP so I presume it is able with Vista. I don't have much experience with Vista but what I have found is the over nannying it does with security is a pain. So, it could be simply a security setting within Vista blocking the device.

This is just a guess !
