Hello all. I'm brand new here, so please excuse me if I've posted this in the wrong place.
I am about to edit a massive load of 1920x1080 HD .mov files for a music video, and I've heard it recommended that I convert the files to a lesser quality before editing to save time/memory. My practical approach to this would be to export each file as lower filesize, one by one, then re-import them to edit. When I was finished editing, I'd replace all files I used with the higher quality originals with the same name (Would you like to overwrite...etc) and then render/export.
Is this the best way, is there another way of doing this, or am I barking up the wrong proverbial?
I'm using FCP7 if it's any help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
