Default Render time and upgrading laptop

Using Adobe Premiere 6.5 I'm rendering out lots of edits about 30 mins long in .mp4(640x480 and 25 fps). Render time is currently taking about 45 mins.

My set up is a 3 year old MacBook Pro 2.8Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo with 8GB RAM and an HD spinning at 7200RPM, running Snow Leopard (64bit).

If I go and upgrade to a new MacBook Pro with say a 2.3Ghz quad-core Intel Core i7 and at least 8GB RAM, am I likely to see a massive decrease in render time or will it be minimal.

    Thanks in advance for advice.
