Default Black space in beginning.. how to get rid

    Hi there,
    I have Adobe 6.0.
I am able to export timeline to tape succesfully.
However when I want to export it again, I wanted the footage recorded to erase what I already had recorded on a tape in my camera. However everytime I export timeline, it seems to insert a small black frame or video for about 1 second.
I looked everywhere in the settings and cannot seem to get rid of it.
    Please advise.

PS> my timeline /movie doesn't have any black space...

And you can't live with this?

Every VHS tape I ever purchased has a few seconds of rubbish or static at the start before the show starts. Why is this a problem?

I also don't really see the problem , but

try setting the "assemble at timecode" to the exact timecode that you want it to start at, and make sure that your "pre-roll" and "movie start delay" are set to zero.
