Default Rendering Multiple Video Formats into one Video (Sony Vegas)

    Hey,

I have sony vegas pro 12 and I'm making a collage of the year 2012, for all my friends, with footage and photos from loads of different Cameras. I've got scanned in negatives, photos and videos off my phone and off my DSLR, in 720p and 1080p with 30 and 60 fps. So now I have this cool video with all my memories of the past year, but I've got no Idea how to render it. Any Ideas?

    Cheers,

Well done you! - OK . . . ask yourself the following: Where or on what do I want to "show" the video?

    Chioices are:

    1/- DVD

    2/- BluRay

    3/- PC<>Mac

4/- iPhone, or ANY other SmartPhone.

    5/- Stream over the Net . . .

Vegas can accomodate ALL of these options

    Over to you!

    ... .

Well I want upload the Video onto Youtube and Vimeo, either in 720 or 1080p.

So how would I render it that everything stays at the best possible quality?

Would it be best to downsize all the 1080p clips to 720, so i have one format for the DSLR videos?

What about the videos and photos off the phone? I know I can't improve their quality, but does it create any problems if I render them at 720 or 1080p?

I know there are presets in Sony Vegas but I find they reduce the quallity of the footage quite substantially.

Have you got any tips for personalized rendering settings?

Well, create some backgrounds to use with the lower resolution stuff and keep them at their native size. You can put pics and video in the same frame. Example: You have a mix of media from a Hawaii trip, so you make a background with a still of the beach, and some text like "Hawaii Vacation", and animate the other media in and out or whatever. Throw some stills next to the video, etc. Be creative.
