Thread: Sunrise over the North Yorkshire Moors

Default Sunrise over the North Yorkshire Moors

I wanted to mark the 12/12/12 date in some way so I filmed the sun rising over the cold North Yorkshire Moors.

Please don't notice the wobbly camera, I forgot my tripods.

Very nice. And incredibly stable - did you do any stabilization in post?
It's incredible how quickly we come to expect something - I was looking for some glidetrack type movement for some of the close-ups.
I wasn't too sure about the title - possibly a bit "gimmicky" for the tone of the video?
I thought the pacing and the music was perfect and thought the wide aspect ration worked very well.
    Very enjoyable. Thanks for posting.

To stabilise the shots I slowed them down to 25%. For the panning shots I put a glove on the back of my car and sat the camera on it and turned it. For the time laps I placed the camera on the ground and on a fence. It's not my first choice of title I was going to call it just "Dawn" or "Sunrise" which I think is better.

Car? You mean you didn't hike out there to be at one with nature? I'm disappointed in you!

Hike ! 50 miles ! It was so cold I could hardly bear to be outside the car for more than 10 minutes at a time.

Many attractive scenes. Loved the colours. Enjoyed the credits rising behind the hill. You guys make it all look so easy.

It's quite easy to do the rising title. It's just a mask and move the text up past it.
