Default silent wooden PC case (no more computer noise, hurray!!)

Hi everyone I have built myself a wooden PC case, that is practically silent. Pretty peaceful to work at I can tell you!!

A picture is worth a thousand words, but even better is a video, so...

    Let me know your thoughts!

You remind me of my younger brother, when he was 12 he made a full lighting rig including light cases (square ones) made from the metal from the side of a bus, stands, gels, etc. He even wired up a lighting desk utilising and old toy desk. I'll never forget how he used any old switch he could get his hands on which looked rather odd seeing all these different types of switches. We used the lights for a band I us to be in and they never let us down.

Always interesting and great fun to watch what you have been up to.

    Well done Matt.

Cheers I do them mainly as a project log, rather than keeping a project book. It's good practice for video production too, I've found.

Looks great.... Did you work something extra for dust problems since your unit is not easily reachable??? I can´t stand the dust acumulating inside my unit....

Yep, I have a dust reduction mechanism. The cupboard that the computer is in is quite high up, so dust should be minimal anyway. But, just in case, the cupboard door is actually a frame where the panel is fine fabric instead of solid wood. This lets the air move in and out, and keeps the dust to a minimum.

Oh, I see.... and this fabric will have to be cleaned from time to time, like the filters we usually have in front of the fans, right? Loved the idea of the remote unit. My computer is kind of inserted in furniture too, and I leave USB, Ipad, card reader and other cables accessible on top of my desk through a hole. But the DVD is not.... Fortunatelly I don´t use disks much. Thanks for sharing your projects!
