    Default video memory usage

    Hi guys

I am a teacher trying to make a series of short videos to post on a learning website for my students. I am using a simple webcam device plugged into my PC.

I have a problem though, even at a fairly low resolution of 720 by 480 pixels the filze size for a 3 minute clip is over 500mb. THis is way to high. I have downloaded videos with much higher res and that are much longer for a much smaller size.

I am recording in .avi which might have something to do with it? Howevber I don't have the option of recording using anything else with the program I have.

    Thanks for any help!

    from
    Harry

Once you have you recordings you can convert the files into a more compressed video formate like mpeg2 or mpeg4. If you good video converter you will come up with lots of free converters on the web.
