    Default Aaaaaaaaargh !!!!!!!!!

OK first day with sony vegas 12

Movie made, stills and music, 2m 13s

    How do I "make movie"

I want to save it as I would in Pinnacle, as an AVI file, somewthing I can easily transfer to a laptop take and play but no matter what I have tried all it does is ONE of the photos and 7 seconds of music

    Thanks

There is not Sony Vegas 12 (yet), you have Movie Studio 12

You can take many files to a laptop, including MPEG2, MP4, (use free VLC to play loads of files.)

To render a file out do the following...

File >> Render As >> in the middle window, look for "Video For Windows", click on the down arrow on the left, then use "PAL DV Widescreen"
Remember this AVi is not HD (that is further down the list)

I would go for MP4 myself, also a much smaller file and can be used to upload to Youtube/Vimeo

The Files is where your Project is.

That is the right Dialogue box.

You cannon use HD for DVD it has to be SD (720x576), HD is is for blue ray
You could try and record a HD file and the copy on to a DVD disc as data and you can play on the PC, also some machines can pick up the file and play it.

Bear in the max on a DVD is about 4.5Gb, most USB's are now much bigger then that and Blu-Ray discs (25Gb)

Sorry yes, what I meant was HD on SDHC which I give to people,

One question, I have a new computer, ok NOT top of the range but quad core i5 etc, can I find out if the DVD writer will take BR

A DVD writer is just a DVD writer unless it is a combo DVD/Buray

    JR,
e.g. the free ImgBurn software would tell you (Tools/Drive/Capabilities, pick a Mode first).
