Thread: Premiere 6.5 not displaying pics

Default Premiere 6.5 not displaying pics

Hey. I have a weird problem with my 6.5. It's not displaying any of my pictures. Photoshop and a number of other programs are opening this pics just fine. In premiere, however, they are just a blank, black square. My laptop version of 6.5 displays them just fine--the same exact pics, too. Is there some crazy setting that might be the cause of this? I uninstalled and reinstalled, and the problem is still there? Any ideas?

Hey. It gets weirder. I've tried the same pics on other computers with premiere, and the pics show up on every other computer I've tried. What's up wit dat? :(

I guarantee this fix will work*:

    Uninstall Premiere. Reinstall.

*I can't guarantee it will work

I've tried that (uninstall and reinstall). It has also been suggested that I install quicktime. What do you think about that.

I recommend installing quicktime, but I don't think that it will help you here... can you post a screen shot of the pic on the timeline and the black you are seeing?

I installed quicktime, and that seems to have done the trick. I don't see how or why that program is necessary, but if you're ever having trouble with jpegs, get a good version of qt installed. Thanks.

Yeah, now that you mention it - 6.5 does need QT. In the effects pallet here's a folder for Quicktime effects (some of them not bad) which cannot be used unless it's installed.

Can't recall this ever having any bearing on displaying stills, though. Glad you've sorted it out.

that's pretty strange, but it's good that you sorted it out.
