Default Super Hi-Vision 8K TV standard approved by UN agency

Just when you thought you were getting ahead of the game by upgrading from an SD to HD camera, and were hoping to someday upgrade to 4K, now the bar has been raised even higher: Super Hi-Vision 8K TV standard approved by UN agency
It just isn't fair. They keep making better and better toys.

Google "planned obsolescence", you may be shocked. I was when I found out what it was.

Here's how I think things will settle, but who knows.

I think homes will have a mixture of 1080p and 4k TV sets and public viewing will go Super Hi Res. Web delivery will be displayed at what we have now with anything lower than 720p gradually fizzling out. High end broadcast will go Super Hi Res, with lower budget being shot on 4k. I think broadcast will evolve into an automatic downscaling thing depending on a combination of what it is being viewed on and what package the viewer is paying for.
