Thanks for looking at my thread. This is my first post as I'm new member.
I've got an incredibly annoying problem in Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 11. I have a standard definition .avi film that I uploaded from my (quite old, 12 years) mini-DV camcorder using firewire, 55mins long. I captured the video using the Sony Vegas software and was captured fine, I played it using windows media player and it's absolutely fine all the way through.
When I import it into my project in Sony Vegas however, the video track is fine but the audio stops at about 38mins. I don't mean that the audio profile just goes to a flat line (i.e. track present but no detectable sound) the TRACK ITSELF stops completely, as if cropped. This happens when i import the file for the first time in fresh projects so i've not manipulated it in anyway.
If i go into audio properties, the audio switches are set to 'loop', so if I try to expand the audio to match the length of the video file, the audio just repeats from the beginning. If I uncheck 'loop', then when I expand the audio track it is just silence after the 38min mark.
I've tried to import the file into a fresh project to convert it into another format, but the same thing happens. I've tried copying and renaming the file and reimporting that, but again the problem remains.
This is driving me absolutely insane as I don't even know how to describe this problem in technical terms and thus can't find any forum entries than can help me.
Any help any of you have would be a godsend. Thanks for reading
