    Default Background Help

    Hey guys and gals

I'm of course a video editor in the making like the rest of you i'm sure. But I am having trouble with something. Ok I am making an intro just like the Pauly D project. If you haven't seen it here's the intro

Now I pretty much have everything else done except whenever i do the equalizer bars part. Well I have a black background so i tried the chromakey and it messed it up big time. Here are the pics.

Horrible right!? Is there a way to pretty much get rid of the black background without hurting the foreground footage? I won't manually mask it cause that may actually make it worse.

You haven't told us how you've created the image in the first place.
Can you create it with an alpha channel for the bits you want to be transparent? Or a colour other than black?
I don't see how maniually masking can make it worse,

i believe it was an alpha channel when i exported it. I tried the orange color since it was the color for the background animation. It worked when i used the mask generator but the foreground wasn't good cause it looked like i used the screen option.

If you really don't have a black background and your have exported with alpha channel, I suspect all that's wrong is you ahven't told Vegas that the media has an alpha channel.
Right click on the media on the timeline.
    Select "Properties"
    Go to the media tab.
About two thirds of the way down, there's a drop down labelled "Alpha Channel"
Change the value from "none" to another value ("Straidht, unmatted" normally works for me.
