Thread: How do I add a 2x (or any x) speed timer to my video in Sony Vegas (10)

  1. #1

Default How do I change the velocity of a timer (Sony Vegas 10)?

Seems the timecode media fx only runs at a fixed velocity regardless of how I alter the velocity of the clip I apply it to. Only way I can figure to get it to work is to actually render the video segment at normal speed and then re-import it and alter the velocity then. This would take a lot of rendering time and a chunk of video quality/hard drive space.

Is there a better method for doing this?

    Yo dawg...

You mean via. Import media? I'll try it...

Edit: It appears to be rendering the project for the import process...? Not sure what's going on exactly...

Edit Edit: Yep, and it looks like crap when it renders. Not sure what to do to make this work...

Create a piece of blank media for the required duration with the timecode FX in it. Render it out and then bring that piece of video onto the time line. When you slow it down or speed it up and the time shown will follow the velocity you set.

Yeah, that's the solution I wanted to avoid. Oh well, it works. Thanks anyway.
