Default Can someone please clarify a (basic) video size dimenstion question I have?

    Thanks for helping!

OK I am new to Vegas and video production.

I need to make a video that fits in a dimension of 560px Width and 315px High (owing to the HTML Page I am using).

Am I correct in these assumptions:

    1. All editing and production in Vegas (and rendering) should be in 560px x 315px?
    2. If I don't do Number 1 and make the video size 1080p and then squeeze it into 560px x 315x the video will be compressed and will take longer to download and play?
    3. Should I NOT capture in 1080p from my HD Video Camera for this project?

THANKS for all help and replies!

Take box number two, but export to those dimensions. Compression will make the video download and play quicker.

I am assuming you computer can edit HD footage.

    1. Set the project properties to match the format of the footage you have eg, if you have 1920 x 1080p footage set you project properties to the same. It's not until the final render that I would then set the render settings to 560 x 315.

    2. No. You are making a smaller file size so it will be downloaded faster.

    3. Yes, I would always capture at the best resolution so I have as good original footage as possible. You may find at some later date you need a full HD version of the video even though now you don't.
