    Hi Graeme,

What program are you using to export a slideshow from? Typically with video to dvd for example your probably best sticking to mpeg 2 pal with an sd resolution, and if given the option keep the target bitrate at around 6.5-6.8mbps and max bitrate at 8 mbps - thats what I use from Premiere anyway.

    Hope that helps?

    Regards
    Nick

    Hello Nick,

Thank you for your help. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro. When I go to export to DVD there is a big list appears when I click encoding, I understand that there are various settings and I THINK England is PAL but not too sure which one.

    Best wishes

    Hi Again,

Yep Pal is UK and Europe. If your doing an mpeg-dvd then you should see a PAL High Quality encode option? - and select widescreen obviously if your working in 16:9

    Hello again Nick,

Thanks for that, would I be better using the settings you suggest as in wide screen? I'm not sure about the widescreen. My slideshow is hopefully for other people to view so I don't really know what to do! There seem to be loads of PAL settings but I see the ones with high quality Nick.
    Thank you,

    Best wishes

I managed to put together a lovely little slideshow with music and the transitions are great as per your advice. I'm now trying to exoprt it straight DVD but there are so many settings. I know it's PAL but what else? b There are a lot of PAL's!

As ever your advice will be much appreciated.
