does this sound feasable? I would like to make my film in several acts, exporting each one as it's own movie individually and then importing the 3 or 4 collected clips into one project to smooth out the seems between them. Would this save me from getting choppy playback and running into potential memory issues while editing or is it just pointlessly adding extra steps to the process?

I'm looking at 60 to 100 minutes by the way, so 4 segments of 15 to 25 minutes.

    cheers >

You can do that if you feel it makes your editing more straightforward - it certainlty makes sense from "good housekeeping" point of view, and I tend to seperate my films too. But from a technical point of view, it won't really change performance.

What you can do is make a seperate project for each segment, then import each project into a "master project" to piece them all together.
