Default How to render small bits of the project?

I am running Vegas Movie Studio HD 11.0. I can't seem to find any option to render/export just portions of my project. Right now, I have an hour long movie, but I only want to preview the finished quality of a very small part (like 15 seconds). But, when I go to File/Render, there doesn't seem to be any option to do this.

Thanks for any help, you guys/gals rock.

    1. Select the region you want to render (Click and Drag just above the ruler line).

    2. From the 'Project' menu select 'Render As'

    3. Scroll down the dialog box and under 'Render Options' make sure that the 'Render looped region only' checkbox is checked.

    4. Enjoy

There is also TOOLS>>PRERENDER VIDEO, (Shift + M )you can select the format to do the pre-render and when you render out finally as long as the format is the same, the rendering is much faster
