Default Can I reduce the resampling? Not disable

    Hey!
I am doing a little montage in Sony Vegas Pro 8. I was wondering if it was possible to reduce the resampling. I dont want to disable it because it gives my footage more smoothness, but in my case the "Smart Resample" and the "Force Resample" gives it too much.

Please help me, its the last thing I need to do before rendering

If you leave it set to smart resample it will resample only the clips you have not altered form the original. ie colour correction, crop etc. so if you don't want it to resample you can't do anything to the clip apart from trim it. Does this clear things up for you.

I believe you're thinking of recompression, Midnight.

I believe resampling is where the rendered output has a different framerate from the source - for example when converting from 25fps to 30fps or when slowing down an event. It is the process whereby intermediate frames are calculated by interpolation.

Given that, I don't really see how the amount of resampling can be reduced. If the rendered output is (say) 25 fps, then resampling will create 25frames. If re-sampling is switched off and the source has been stretched to last twice as long, every original frame will simply be repeated (once). Of course I'm happy to be corrected - my understanding may be wrong.

It's been a long weekend. Soz.

I can't see why anyone would want to do that. Having mixed frame rate would just play havoc with your player.
