Default How to get this effect?

Looking to get the effect of this video below. I want to use it for a car game montage and want the car to keep the colour but the backrounds black and white like below? From 2:28 onwards

Simple Colour Correction. Link below should help you out.

In Sony Vegas the Secondary Colour corrector will do that effect.

True, secondary color correction is in play here for all but the car. I believe the car was roto'd out (masked out frame by frame) on top of this footage (too many other colors in the car to create secondaries). The background plate has the red color creating the matte. The matte is then inverted and the Sat is taken to zero. I'd use After Effects to pull off the effect because you need advanced masking.

Thanks guys, i did try in Vegas first and could not get the desired effect. Hence asking in the After Effects Sub forum. So i would have to mask each frame? Not something i have done before, i presume it's quite challenging?

Since the car is a solid object, rotoscoping wouldn't be too bad with the Roto Brush in CS5 and later. Roto Brush automates the process of masking frame-by-frame. If you have never used the Roto Brush tool, start here: Roto Brush in After Effects CS5 After Effects region of interest
