Default panning and zooming images in premier 6.5

Hi everyone, I am a brand new member of this forum so I wish I do the right process for posting my questions.
I want to edit still images on premier 6.5. When I import them to the project window, the size of the images are correctly specified. When I drag them to the timeline, the images compress to the size of the project window. When I apply, in motion effects, zoom in , the quality of the image looks blured and in low resolution. I imagine this happens because it zooms in at the imagen that has been compressed to fit the project window. But I want the zoom in to look with the image quality of the original clip. How can I do the pan effect and zoom in effect of a still image in premier 6.5?

    Thanks
    Gerry

I don't have premier, but I have an idea that might work. In my software, in the options menu, there are 3 choices for pictures.
    1. fill and crop 2. stretch to fit 3. keep the same

    or something like that.

Have you tried looking at your options menu to see what kinds of choices you have regarding that way your pictures are displayed? You might have more choices in Premier.
