    Default Underwater video

Hi All, I'm new here as I was Googling for video editing tips and I found this forum.

Here's a short video which I created from a dive in the Red Sea a few weeks ago. I've only really created it to play around with Sony Vegas' features as it's the first time I've used it. Unfortunately I'm having problems sorting out the white balance/colour correcting it .. spent many hours trying and failing. This is the original footage, only shortened as it was about 30 minutes long (then my battery ran out) .. does anyone have any ideas of what I can do? I have about 30gb of video taken in the Red Sea which is similar -- so if it could be sorted, or at least improved, then that would be fantastic. I've seen some amazing things done with colour correction, I just wish I could do it!!!

    Default Not too Shabby . . well, I think it's good . .

I took the liberty of capturing your footage to see what I could do. Of course working with the original footage would give much better pixel consolidation!

This is very possible. What do you think?

I think Grazie has shown you what you need to do.
At our club (Staines Video Makers - Homepage) we have a member who reguarly joins photographers in dives. They always take a white card sown with them and set the white balance at the depth they are filming. Alternatively, some carry white balance cards which they can use above sea level, with different colours associated with different depths.

Hi, the video footage that scott took was taken on a Hero Hd camera ( im not jealous 1 little bit ! ) and its not possible to set the white balance on the camera either before, during or after the shoot.
Its very much a case of point and shoot.
Am myself a user of Magix and wondered if you could perhaps explain how you recovered the colors from the footage ?.
I have tried myself by using the colour correction but can only seem to remove the green and make the pic more blue.

Cheers in advance for any help on this subject.
