Question Which file format for professional DVD duplication

I am shooting some training videos which are destined for a DVD that will be distributed with a magazine. I'll be shooting HD 1080 either on a JVC hm100 or my dslr (or a mix of both), and editing in FCP. The end results will then be handed over, via the magazine publisher, to a video duplication facility for the DVD's to be produced.

Anyone have any advice on format and compression to use? I know the obvious answer is to ask the magazine people, but I'd like to sound as if I know what I'm talking about before I do that!

You've answered your own question. DVD can only be MPEG 2 - render accordingly - If you leave someone else to downconvert and they cock it up you'll be the one everyone else will think has got it wrong.

Thanks Andy, I didn't realise that was the case but now I know!
