Default Amateur Video editor needs help....

I jsut started tryign out video editing.
and, i have an output ready.
but, each time i export the video, the size of the is very huge.
for example, i joined 3 clips together. but the output size is very very much bigger than what the 3 clips combined size is.

Can someone advise me on which compressor to use, and how to go about doing the settings?

    thx

The question is: the final video is what for? If you want to burn it to a DVD, you should export it in AVI/DV AVI because it doesn't lose quality. If you want video to be smaller, ok just export it in mpeg2, for example. But it will lose quality.
Perhaps Alan could help you a bit more.. Alan?

Hee hee. I suspect he meant me! Fame at last!

before the 'best' settings can be considered and offered we would need to know a bit more as already suggested. What is the final output for? If it;s afor DVD production then you need a certain size. Otherwise it's just a question of playing with the bitrates until you're happy.

the final output is not for dvd. just a normal video file.
just like those movie files you get on net. or those anime files u get from anime suki.

For me, a "normal video" file is an AVI Why do you want it to be like those on net? If you want to put it on the internet, ok, that's fine. It's just a matter of chosing the compression and bitrate you want (in the export settings). Low bitrate=less quality=smaller size. Otherwise, why not keeping it with a good resolution? Only if your free space on disk is too small..
