Default Different media resolution in same movie

    Hi everyone.

    I'm new to Vegas.

I'm doing a movie with media taken from my miniDV cam. However, I would like to insert a few video clips that were done with my small photo camera. The resolution is 320x240. I can't seem to be able to see the media in the preview window, nor do I see the video part in the timeline, only the audio. The project settings are 720x480. I'm in Canada, so it's NTSC.

Do I need to convert the clips before opening them in Vegas?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

    Default Not resolution

    Hi

It doesnt seem that the resolution is the problem, rather Vegas doesnt fully support that file type/encoding. For example it may be an XVid encoded avi, which Vegas sometimes will not fully recognise and won't import the video. Try either converting it to a raw avi or use the Windows Media Encoder (from Microsoft's website 4 free) and convert to wmv. That should work.
