Default Most suitable Mic for a Club environment?

Basically in the not so distant future I am going to be needing to capture quite a large amount of footage in a club environment. I am going to be needing to use the sound as well as the footage in some parts of the project and I am not that knowledgable on sound.

I am only going to be using a NX5E and can not afford a dedicated sound mixer and sound recordist so looking for a onboard/boom mic to connect directly to the camera.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated,

    Nick

Do you want the ambient sound or are you having interview/vox/presenter ?

it will just be the ambient sound as it will be recording the gigs themselves and the crowds.

    Thanks again,

Thanks for your response paul I have only just realised you have replied! I see what you are saying with regard using the standard mic but I think I am going to end up with a lot of distortion from the standard mic on the NX5 which I am really needing to avoid!

Hi Nick - Can't you set the peak audio levels in your cam?
My opinions are just that . . . Mine. It's not personal, but is based on my emotional and professional reaction to requested critique. If you choose to ignore constructive comments, I'll just assume you're a vanity poster and not posting to improve your filming and editing skills.

  6. Default In the end?

Hi I would like to know what worked best in the end. The last post also has a good point that the club's system can often be peaking.
