Thread: Losing video quality after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS4. Why????? :(

Exclamation Losing video quality after transcoding in Adobe Encore CS4. Why????? :(

After importing video and transcoding it in Adobe Encore, the video picture gets pixelated like the one right below and after trying different quality parameters I really don't know what could be wrong.

The same happens if I drop an still picture into the timeline, but not in the menu.

The resulting DVD has an optimal quality when reproduced in VLC, but not in Windows Media Player or in a DVD player device.

I tried with different formats, viz AVI, MOV, MPEG or WMA, but the same result follows.

I hope someone can give some advice about this urgent need. I have to deliver it shortly.
    thanxxxs honestly in advance*

Are you taking a video file that is 100 x 100 pixels and trying to blow it up to 768 x 560 ( or whatever 16:9 SD is these days... )

How big is the source file in terms of pixel rates if I may ask?

    Default

The input video is 720x576 PAL, exactly as I need to export it.
but I didn't notice any difference by changing the aspect ratio either.
btw, I forgot to include the above mentioned pictures of before and after transcode...
    here they are:
