Default The Crumbling Ruins of Detroit

I went out to film a documentary in Detroit last July and thought id put together a little montage of some GV's I shot while out there.

    Hope you enjoy!

    Thanks,
    John.

I loved the images but, in my opinion the music didn't fit. The vocals were too sweet, a love song rather than a lament. The voice was too soft for the images we were seeing. Something by Tom Waites would probably fit more!

I know what you mean about the vocals being a bit sweet but I interpret them as more melancholy. Nice images may be just a little to much glidecam type shots bunched together in the edit. Remember, "less is more".

    Great job.

After being knocked out by the first few images, I became rather distracted by the glidecam to the extent that all I was doing was trying to spot/predict the movement in the curremt/next shot. Which is a shame.
I liked the irony of the final shot, but overall I was left wondering what the film was saying.
