Default Getting new sound files to sound older

I've been fiddling with digital sound editing since I was in middle school, but I never developed an intuition for how to produce sounds I wanted. This is the first time I've thought of asking, so I'd appreciate any help.

I have two sound files here, one was made around 1992, the other 2002. There's a noticeable difference in the sound quality-

These were probably done by different voice actors, but what I want is to make the latter sound as much like the former as possible. I haven't had much luck, or any idea on what to do (I've played with the pitch, and echoing, but that doesn't do much) but what's really troubling me is the former has a reverb of sorts going on, and sounds static-y. Everything is crisp and filtered in the second file, but I don't know what to do to get it closer.

    Any ideas?

It sounds like the first one has had some phase or flanging added with a little short echo. On this example I've done I think I've put on a bit too much echo but you can have a go your self now you know what effects to use.Attachment 1263
