Default Sony Vegas Pro 10 Glitch

This is my first post and I really need help with this!

I'm trying to make a Sims 3 music video in Sony Vegas Pro 10. The song I am using is 5:28 seconds long and I am only using one song. I have the game open while I'm recording, so I know what exactly to film and use in the song. But there's one problem.

The clips seem grainy, they pause for less than a second and resume once every 2 seconds, and some of the video clips flash different colors in the preview window. They don't do this in Windows Media Player. They play normally in Windows Media Player.

If it helps, these are my specs:

    Windows XP Home SP3
    4GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4670 1GB Video RAM
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 2.11 GHz

I haven't had this problem with The Sims 2. Why does Sony Vegas do that with The Sims 3?

Here is a video showing what it looks like.

NEVER MIND. Use this as a solution if you are having this problem. I converted the .AVI files to .WMV, problem solved. Do not respond to this, but keep this thread alive, to help others who may have this issue.

You have not solved this problem - you have worked around it, which is entirely different.

Now that I think about it, you're right. I guess I didn't solve it. But I couldn't manage to do so, so I didn't bother.
