Default VOB file is the right size and previews in media player but shows 0:00:00

THe VOB file is the right size for a 30 minute capture, and it plays in the default media player, but details shows a 0:00:00 length and when I import to Premier and drag to the timeline it's only a few frames long. I've tried reimporting and reloading the file from the DVD but no go. Some of the files are fine, some show a short timecode but import to the timeline properly, but most have this truncated problem. Ideas?

Seems like the file is copy protected.

Hmm, ok. Are there chapter points on the DVD with the vob files? Also, when you have the videos playing in WMP, can you advance to a different spot by just clicking somewhere on the navigation bar?

Back when I was using Encore CS2 or CS3, I didn't put chapter points on my video. Once the DVD was burned, the video played fine in WMP, but I could not advance anywhere. When I tried clicking to a different spot on the navigator/timeline, the navigator cursor would just bounce back to the original playing point. It was very odd.

The easiest thing for you may be to just rip the DVD and create new avi files instead of just coping the vob files. Just a suggestion.
