Thread: Adobe Media Encoder problem

  1. Default Adobe Media Encoder problem

    Hi all,

When I export in CS4 and media encoder pops up, I click "start queue" but nothing happens for a few minutes then (eventually!) an error emerges in the Status box: "Could not read from the source. Please check if it has been removed or deleted".

The source clips are definitely there. But my C drive folder has this little padlock icon next to it. I'm guessing this is some protection setting, where Media Encoder can't get into the folder?

So this is, perhaps, more a windows 7 o/s question than CS4??!! Any ideas?

    Phil.

Yes, if that folder is locked, Premiere can not modify the folder in any way. It can only read from it. Not sure if you have your scratch disk set to the same locked folder or not. You should be able to right click on the folder and go to properties and disable the "locked" settings.

I had this same issue on my mac, once I disabled the "lock," everything worked like a charm.
