Default crop ideo clip while maintaining aspect ratio

my video clip contains only one half of the screen which i want to render and upload to youtube, i used event pan/crop to select the half of the screen which i want. the problem is that i also want to maintain my aspect ratio to 16:9 Widescreen aspect ratio to get rid of the black sides. everytime i select 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio it forces me to render the entire screen including the half that i do not want. Is there a solution to my situation?

Doing this, you will loose the top and bottom parts of your footage BUT it's a simple thing to do. Set the 16:9 aspect ratio, then make sure the "keep aspect ratio" button is selected. Now simply re-size the crop box to the required size. You may also loose resolution of the image doing this.
