Thread: Can I Apply Border FX to Masks?

  1. Default Can I Apply Border FX to Masks?

I want to be able to mask a certain part of a clip, then apply a border effect to make the edges of only the mask soft so that if I put the mask on top of another clip it will blend in better.

If you are applying the mask using Bezier masks (in Vegas Pro only) you can set the amount of feathering you want around the mask - which is exactly what you want to do.

I may be wrong Tim, but I believe our chum here is after something far more complex than the simple feathering. It appears there is a need to produce at least 2 Events that "meld" together. To me that implies an area of integration of Event edges. To do that then there would be a need to get busy with Layering, Compositing and Compo Mask. Read it again?

You may be right Grazie, but reading it several times I still see my interpretation as more likely.
