    Lightbulb Looking for help on a specific SFX

    Hey guys, Im new to the forum (made my account about 5 minutes ago, tbh haha) but anyways, I make r&b/pop music using adobe audition and Ive been trying to get the hang of a certain effect for quite a while with no success, so Ive decided to ask the pros(;
    I dont know what the effect is called, but nicki minaj uses it in alot of her songs. Its when you say a word for example "love" and before it you repeat the syllable a few times like " l l l l l l love". Im not sure if Im explaining well enough, but Id appreciate any help. Thanks in advance

    To get this effect is not that difficult, and there is more than one way to get similar effects.
    One method is to simply do a tight cut/copy on the sylable and on a seperate track, do a multiple paste and add re-verb to give the sound you want.
    You may also want to play with the EQ and frequency of the clips to modify the actual tone.
    Alternative do 1-2 copies of the syllable on a separate track and ply with echo to give a fading repeat.

    Or a combination of both options.

    Hope this gives you a starting point to play with.
