    Default Avid studio/ graphics card issues

    Hi there
    I am currently trailing the free version of Avid Studio with a view to purchase. I am looking to upgrade from Adobe PE7 which isn't fully windows 7 compatible and keeps crashing on me.

    My current system is as follows;
    OS; Windows 7 Ultimate
    CPU; iNTEL CORE i7-920 2.67 GHz
    Motherboard; Asus P6T Deluxe V2
    Memory; Corsair XMS3 6GB
    Graphics Card; Sapphire ATI HD5870
    Hard Drive; 2 times Western Digital 1TB
    PSU; Corsair ATX 850W
    Case; Cooler Master 690 II
    Cooling; Zalman CNPS9900 LED

    What is happening when I use Avid Studio is that suddenly the screen will go black, flicker, come back to life with a warning that the display driver has stopped responding and has recovered. Here is a copy of the error log generated by my pc.

    A problem with your video hardware caused Windows to stop working correctly.

    Can anyone offer any suggestions as to what may be causing this to happen and what should I do to rectify this issue.

    ps. I have updated all drivers on my pc.

    I'm sorry I can't help you but I have the same problem on my computter and we have similar graphics cards. I have used the software with INTEL and NVIDIA cards with no problem but it seems to crash with ATI cards. I have an ongoing dialauge with AVID support so I will let them know that I'm not the only one who has this problem.
