Thread: Importing Audio Problem

    Default Importing Audio Problem

I am trying to import video into Sony Vegas 10. I shot the video with two mics: a boom and the mic on the camera. How do I import the video so that it gives me two audio channels?

Also, the boom mic was recorded so only the left channel was heard while taping. I don't know if that is normal or not, but how do I make it so that I can either copy the left to the right or some other variation of that?

    Thanks

Ages since I've done this, but...Put the same audio on two tracks and, on the top one, right-click, choose Channels, and Left Only. On the bottom one, right-click, choose Channels, and Right Only. There are scripts out there which do this for you.

If your boom mic recorded to the left channel only, it's not wired correctly. Most mono mics used to do this, but these days, most (but not all) record the same mono signal to both channels.

Re the mic, if you plug a mono jack plug into a stereo socket it often only sends a signal to one channel.
