Default First camera work and editing

    Hello everyone
I was hired by one company (my friend's) to make a film about beaches in the Caribbian. They liked it very much, but it can't be perfect i am sure! I haven't discussed my first work with anyone accept for my friends and family, but seriously, what do you think, is my work worth anything? Please see my footage, comments from pros are so much welcomed:

    Thanks

First off - the images are very lovely. But - what else is there? You said you were hired to make a film about the beaches in the Caribbean. There's little imparted in this film knowledge wise. We don't know where the islands are - where the beaches are - how I might go about finding my way there - there's not a jot of information at all. The other thing is you've overlayed the most irritating bird song track - I felt like I wanted to pull a gun and blast them off the branches they were that repetitive. I think for this to work on the level you were asked to, it needs a voiceover at the very least - and those darn birds need culling.

    Nice pictures though.

You might be right about the birds, but that's what was asked for. We recorded the birds live and in one spot it was a prerecorded sound. These beaches needed to remain unknown, that was the actual plan. No information, no human voice, just plain nature.. Thanks for your review.
This video is supposed to be played on home theaters with 5.1 ))

Absolutely. Hardly the most taxing assignment when mother nature has done all the hard work for you!

    (even the birds)

Nope. The images are lovely. perhaps if you'd used a jib to add some movement though - that'd help things along I suspect. If only there was someone you could fly in from the UK with one eh.

We tried to avoid any type of humans in this film, those places are not frequented by jibs of any kind but we also visited some tourist beaches and believe me it's impossible to work there..
