Default Shaping Overlay Video in Sony Vegas HD 10.0

    Hey,

I'm editing a movie and want to make it look like the two characters are looking at video on the screen. How can i shape the overlay to fit right into the frame (where the orange is now)? I tried the deform effect and the motion tool, but I cannot get all corners covered.

    Thanks

I understand your frustration. It can be done with either. I somethimes find I fiddle away and get nowhere. Then I away and have a cup of coffee then start from scratch again and i get it to work first time.
I find 3D track motion easier than deform.
But i'd be delighted if anyone has any quick sure-fire ways of doing this. I'm sure i'm missing a trick.

May be turning on the grid in preview window and calculating what grid block size corresponds to per unit of 'squeeze' and 'shear'. Then find out where exactly those four points of your overlay is on the grid and translate that to numbers in squeeze and shear number boxes.
