Default Burning a DVD for USA family member

Just finished a Weddign DVD, but they now want a copy for a family member in USA. What are my options - get hold of a blank Region 1 DVD and just burn to that??

    Thanks

The region is dictated by the software used to master the disc, not the actual disc itself.... what s/w are you using? You'll need to render the project out in NTSC too for them to be able to watch on TV.

    Hi,

    It's Pinnacle Studio 14.

    Thanks.

Perhaps someone who knows this s/w will be able to help you in the right direction - I use Sony DVD Architect so can't advise, sorry. Presumably though in the settings somewhere there will be the facility to make NTSC DVDs.

Thanks Andy. What if they have a multi-region DVD player ?? - will it still need to be NTSC rendered?

DVD regions only refers to the marketing restrictions by geographical area. Which has nothing to do with PAL/NTSC. You need to make a NTSC DVD for the USA because of the difference in frame rate, size etc. between the two formats.

I think there is a settings option in Pinnacle where you can choose NTSC or PAL. It's been a while since I used it so I can't remember exactly where it is.
