    Default Birds:- Slow Mo

To celebrate the loverly weather we had yesterday I took my camera out into my garden and filmed birds on a bird feeder when I slowed the footage right down I thought it gave an interesting effect.

That is a nice effect. Did you remove any frames or was that just how it came out when you slowed it down?

Blimey that worked well. Come on, spill the neans - what shutter speed wre you using? Did you do anything "clever" with the slowing down? How much was that slowed down - surely more than the 12x yo can get with Velocity Envelopes + Ctrl+drag.

Cheers guys, I didn't remove any frames. I shot it 50i fps and a shutter speed of 1/1000. I slowed it down to 25% with the media properties, then used the velocity Envelope for the really slow bit down to 10% and the result is how is was.

I've been playing with it this afternoon to see if I could get the image to stay so there was a trail of birds, if that makes sense but the masking is a bit trickier than I thought it would be. So I gave up.

Funny - I expected you to be doing this later in the movie - where the bird files away.

Not bad, but I think I'd like to see the images closer together - maybe so they overlap.

BTW I really like the nex ident. The subtle moon is a big plus - a brave move to move away from the plane "kissing" the moon though.

I would have done the images closer together but some of them just weren't there and it was such a pain in the bum to do it "just for fun" I couldn't be bothered. I haven't dropped the plane kissing the moon opener I just don't use it for short pieces.
