Default Vegas 10 Pro Having issues with Arabic font

    Hello

I'm involved in a project with Moroccan Arabic (Darija). So when I copy the text into text editor, it shows Arabic letters just fine, however both preview window and rendered video show them kinda reverse or upside down. This is a huge issue, as I need to complete the project. Does anyone have any ideas how to fix it? Tried so far :

To change my Windows to Arabic - nothing happened
To change the Arabic letters font to Arial(Arabic) - nothing happened
To do both things in After Effects - same result

Thanks for taking time to read this

Until there is a fundamental fix, you can "flip" an Event both horizontally or vertically, if that helps?

    Hello

I was thinking about that, however on the same "slide" there is both English and Arabic mixed in. Is there a 3rd party solution, maybe some "add-on"? I'm trying to avoid having to rework 19 videos. However, if I decided to rework them, is there any software that can handle Arabic?

    Thanks!

Only thing I can think of is to put the English and Arabic on seperate tracks.

That confuses me! The fact that you're enquiring about fonts and using a text editor suggests you are either using ProType Titler or Sony Text plug-in.
The fact that you're using Pro means number of tracks isn't an issue.
And it's surely an editing issue, not a project spec issue.

Well. Tim, if could be that the OP is speaking of the Client, ProjSpec and not the Vegas ProjSpec.

We need clarification from the OP.

    Hey

Okay now I'm confused. I'm not using any of those plugins mentioned, I'm making simple "learn Arabic" videos by copying the script from MS Word into Sony Vegas Pro 10. I just insert text media and thats it. The project specifications tell me that I have to use both English and Arabic in a single slide, because thats what the dude wants Maybe one of those plugins might help?

    Thanks!

This doesn't stop you from putting the different languages on different tracks. Just position the text to suite on each track. The text background is transparent by default so you will see both lines of text but now you can flip the Arabic track so it looks right.

Indeed. I'd rather assumed he meant the project spec from the client. The reason I was confused was that the a project spec would normally specify what is to be produced rather than how. The issue here is clearly a how - ie it's a technical/editing issue.

And Loldawgs later post confirms this.
