Thread: Sony Vegas issues

    Default Sony Vegas issues

Well after spending hours editing clips and finishing a video I tried to convert the file...which unfortunately did not work- Instead of converting the entire video it only converts about a second or two of the video, always the same bit each time I try to convert it. What am I doing wrong?
Also, sometimes if I put a certain clip into the timeline, save, exit Sony Vegas then open Sony Vegas back up then come back the clip shows up as a black screen. More help?

    Please answer quickly! Thanks.

You want help? How about helping us with information?

    1) PC power and hard drive setup?

    2) Vegas Project Settings?

    3) Media you are using? Shot on what camera? Or material you are importing?

    4) What format and codec/compression you are using?

Not having any of this information from you makes any response sheer lunacy and a waste of everybodys time.

How about a little toleraton towards a Junior member who has a few reasonable questions to ask.

Most probably he doesn't have sufficient knowledge to provide the information you demanded and its more than likely he doesn't know a codec from pixel.

The point I'm making is that a modicum of civility will no doubt encourage the development, knowledge and skill of newcommers instead of frightening them off with a twat of an attitude.

Grazie isn't known for civility or incivility on the forums. He just posts facts without wasting much in the way of words.

If you look at it again it's succinct, but there's nothing rude in the post. He hasn't said "You are stupid for not posting enough information", rather he's said "If you want help we'll need more information - and this is the information we'll need" which in itself is already helpful. He has also stated that without that information any advice given and received is likely to be worthless, thus saving anyone else the effort of posting speculative advice and saving the OP from potentially wasting time by acting upon that speculative advice.

But he's done that in far fewer words than I just did.

And he's the only person to have responded to the question!
