Default Free app for creating video from one source, audio from another

    Hi,

I'm looking for a free video editing application that will allow me to take the video from a high quality source, and the audio from another source and align them up.

I guess I'm asking quite a lot, but I just wondered?

If you want to see in more detail what I'm trying to do, skip to 2m 35 in this video, and watch until around 4m:

There are many free ones listed on:

...but I could spend many days trying to find one that does what I'm after...can anyone provide any recommendations either from that list or not listed?

    Thanks in advance,

    Rave

I use Media Chance Edit Studio6 (free trial available here Edit Studio, video editor)
Does exactly what you want. You can set up as many video and audio channels as you want, import video with or without audio, import audio only. If your video has audio imbedded you don't want to use you can separate the audio and delete it. You can then replace it with any audio you want.
i very seldom see comments about Edit Studio but I find it very user friendly and fast.

    Best of luck

    Thanks for the tip.

This is the sort of thing I'll only do infrequently so its hard to justify $80...does anyone know of a free app?

    e.g. from this list?

I've been told www.virtualdub.org will do the job and it's free.
