Default HDV and AVCHD in same project

I'd like to edit HDV and AVCHD in the same project in Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, cause old camera canon hv20 is still in use for taking closeups while filming the hole situation with new Canon Legria HF40 (AVCHD camera)

So can I edit raw material in the same project or do I have to make some converting.

I have now Premiere Element so I'm not yet familiar with Premiere CS5

    Thank You for answers

You can, but it's likely that you would have to scale you HDV footage to the same res as your AVCHD video (or vice versa). It might be an idea to batch convert the AVCHD to HDV before editing. This will maximise efficiency.
